Response:  It's been almost a year since I read this and it still hurts. The death in this book was hard to swallow and gave me the feels throughout the book. I was shocked at who the villain was. It was a happy and terrifying surprise. The last 2 chapters though tore apart my heart. I won't spoil it, but damn I'm pretty sure my heart is still broken. I ugly cried for a good long while after that.
Having Meg as a descendant of a long line of Demeter's favorites was a surprising twist and I was here for every second of it. Especially the guardians her father brought back to life and answer to her. I'm so ready for The Tyrant's Tomb to come out September 24th!

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I like to watch new shows before I read the books they're based on. If I hate the premise of the show, I'm certainly going to hate the book. But there have been a couple of TV shows over the years that have made me want to read the books that they're based on, just because I love the worlds that are built so much. Outlander is one of those shows that I heard about for so long, but I never really watched it. I knew everyone loved it, and it was really good, but I just never got into the idea of it. January Bingo

This month I will be participating in a book bingo from The Book Democracy. This is my sheet before anything is filled in. Each week I'll post updates of how far I've gotten. My goal is one bingo by the end of the month. The rules are simple.  1. ONE book a month may be used on TWO squares, not including the free space. 2. City of Lost Souls

5/5 City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare may have just become my favorite of the Mortal Instrument series. I really wasn't a fan of City of Fallen Angels, it felt like it didn't need to exist. But now that I've read this one it completely makes sense. Also the fact that you're not supposed to read them in order makes it more enjoyable as I could kind of see how it was supposed to be two separate series within the Mortal Instrument series almost.  This book takes place a couple of weeks after City of Fallen Angels. Jace is still missing, and no one has heard from Sebastian. But they come after Clary, and in the process, wound Luke with a poison dagger. Clary doesn't go with them, but just as Jocelyn suspected, Jace comes back for Clary again, and this time she goes with him.
