4.5/5 Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan picks up 9 months after The Lightning Thief and Percy has almost made it through a full year at his new school. He has a new friend that the school has taken in as their charity case as he's homeless, Tyson. But it turns out Tyson is not only a cyclops, but also Percy's brother. They reach camp to find that someone has poisoned Talia's tree and the only cure is the golden fleece. While Clarisse is given the quest to go find the fleece, Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson all head out to look for Grover who's in trouble. They end up teaming up with Clarisse to get down to the Sea of Monsters, also known as the Bermuda Triangle. There, Annabeth and Percy run into all sorts of trouble with different monsters. I actually used it for 2 of the prompts: "over a million ratings" and "admin/mod favorite". I don't think there'll ever be a time when I'm not satisfied with this book. Percy is still dumb and but I adore him. All the characters are relatable even with them being so young. And Percy's sass 😍 There will be few moments in life where more balls have been shown then when he sent Medusa's head to Olympus.

Here's my first update for January Bingo!  So far I've gotten through Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman for the Popsugar challenge 2019, Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan for book with over 1 million ratings and admin/mod favorite. I also just today finished Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin for a book that's older than you. I'm going to try to knock out Drums of Autumn by Diana Gabaldon done by the end of the month but we shall see. I also want to get a couple more read including: Stolen by Kelly Armstrong for shape shifting character Homecoming by Kass Morgan for science fiction

This month I will be participating in a book bingo from The Book Democracy. This is my sheet before anything is filled in. Each week I'll post updates of how far I've gotten. My goal is one bingo by the end of the month. The rules are simple.  1. ONE book a month may be used on TWO squares, not including the free space. 2. Author:  Rick Riordan Read:  11/27/2017 Pages: 516 Rating: 3.5 Format:  physical Response: Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes seems like it continues forever. The book is split up by each hero, and the length of Hercules alone made me want to jump off a cliff. Not that I'm biased or anything after reading the Heroes of Olympus Series. But it was well written, and most of the heroes were interesting to read about from the perspective of Percy Jackson. I loved that Riordan included the few females heroes as well, it made for a good mix in the stories. Overall, it was a decent book, and I would recommend it if you like learning about mythology with a new take on the stories. But if you don't like semi dense books, this isn't the book for you.

Apollo continues on his mission to find the oracles of the world. There are 5 total, so I can only guess there will be 5 books to match. This book was exciting and kept me entertained the entire way through. Though there were instances of humor, it wasn't as memorable as the first book (unless it involved Leo). Apollo/Lester has started to grow as a human so the tone is a tad more serious and less naive then The Hidden Oracle . I hope the next 3 books compare. I'm also curious who the final emperor will be. Two have been reveled and it'll be interesting if the final one is named in the next book, what the final 2 books will be like. Will New Rome and Camp Half-Blood join in to fight? Will there be a massive fight somewhere? Or will it be a quiet war that never involves the m...

It follows Apollo after he was cast out of Olympus by his father Zeus, sent to Earth to live as a mortal and complete trials for a half-blood that claims his service. He gets off to a rough start when he lands in a dumpster, and then as he struggles to adapt to not being handsome, or having any of the powers he was so used to. It was fast paced and fun the whole way through. It was nice to have Apollo basically normal. Riordan didn't make the story complete itself too easily by letting Apollo have the answers to everything, which was nice. It gave a little suspense to the book as you tried to figure things out along with Apollo and Meg.
